It's official - the De Rooy family of three is soon to become a family of four!
Yep there is a bun in this oven and unfortunately it's making me really sick. I thought my morning sickness with Miriam was bad - but this is worse. I ended up in hospital a few weeks ago after not being able to keep food or liquids down for almost five days. The hospital gave me a choice, stay in hospital for a week or stay home on best rest for a week (no work!).
Needless to say I chose the say at home option, I don't like hospitals at the best of times. Now, thanks to a wonderful invention called Maxolon, I am manging to keep food down now and functioning in a semi-normal state.
It's not all doom, gloom and vomiting though. We are really excited about the prospect of a brother or sister for Miriam. And, before you ask, we haven't quite decided whether we are finding out the gender this time, but it's likely. Given our remote location it will be difficult to get the 'stuff' we need so knowing whether we are buying blue things or pink things might help.
We have told Miriam there is a baby in Mummy's belly (about as much as she can fathom at 18 months old) and she thinks its really cute. She hugs and kisses my belly and gives my belly her teddy to cuddle. If you ask her "where's the baby?" she points to my belly and giggles. Fingers crossed she stays this loving when the baby actually arrives and starts to demand Mum & Dad's attention.
Our first scan is not for a few weeks yet but I'll post some more details and hopefully a picture of the bun then.
