Our move to Nhulunbuy (Gove) at the beginning of the year went well. Allan settled in quickly to his new job, despite a few painful weeks of training, and Holly enjoyed catching up with friends and being a stay at home Mum with Miriam.
Shortly after we arrived Holly turned the big 3-0! Our wonderful friends (thank you Christie!) threw her a great party to celebrate this milestone.
In April Holly decided to go back to work at Rio Tinto Alcan 3-days a week, taking on the same role she had when we were here in 2006. In June, Allan’s company handed over the contract for the air medical service to CareFlight and Allan changed companies too.
Both of our jobs have proved challenging in the latter half of the year, but we are determined to stay here for a while longer, knowing this is where God wants us to be.
We are spending Christmas in Gove this year, celebrating with our friends here in town. So as you celebrate Christmas, however you do, remember the words in Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
