Some might call us crazy; others might say we’re just adventurous. Either way, 3 couples – including a woman who’s 32 weeks pregnant, and 4 kids under 3 – driving for 14 hours and going camping for 7 nights in Kakadu is certainly an undertaking.
But the “Gove Three” aka the Grahams, the Grimes and the De Rooy’s (hereafter known as G3) are not ones to shy away from adventure. When we started planning our Kakadu 4wd adventure I don’t think any of us envisaged that we would have 4 children under 3 with us, or that I would be 32 pregnant with our second child.
As they say, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

The DeRooy's at Gunlom where we camped for 6 nights

The kidlets hungrily awaiting their sausages - hurry up Aunty Kim!

The girls at the top of Ubirr Rock - they beat me to the top but they were being carried by their Dads!

Miri and Ava 'helping' to pack up - I don't think I've ever seen my feral bush child this dirty!

The DeRooy's at Twin Falls - Miri is very excited to be on Daddy's shoulders

The pregnancy hiking champion of the world after climbing into Jim Jim Falls (those of you who have been there will know how much of an achievement that is!)

Ha Ha Haarlem!
That's where we are now. Just been out for some takeaway coffee for Neroli. Had to walk for some distance to find the only shop in the locality selling takeaway. Holland doesn't really open until at least 10 am most days anyway, and the masses of cafes don't sell takeaway anyway. Glad to here that you are all really well, and as part of the "de Rooy" family (i.e. royal family) you have very high status in this part of the world we're told. Gotta go. Having trouble publishing my blog sometimes so I'd better get on with that now, before we head out into the cool, but not cold, morning. Our tour proper starts this afternoon so it'll be go, go, go for us from now one. Hugs to all including that cute little grubby bubby Miri XXX
